News, Updated May 2012

Lewis Bolt & Nut Company increases capacity to further improve customer service.  Due to continued high demand for Lewis Bolt & Nut Company products, 2 new buildings totaling 50,000 square feet, are being constructed.  The new buildings, scheduled for completion later this year, will be adjacent to our current manufacturing plants in La Junta Colorado.  “The new space will provide the opportunity to increase both our warehousing needs as well as our production capabilities” states Dave Barry, V.P. of Sales of Lewis Bolt.  “Our customers are under pressure to deliver with shorter and shorter lead times, especially to the Class I Railroads.   This new space will further our ability to meet or exceed the increasing needs of our customers.   With the added production capacity, the new space will bring us closer to our customers desire for “just in time flexibility”.

Union Pacific Rail has added the Patented Lewis Evergrip™ Spike to their standard Plans. UPRR joins CSX (CSX has over 9 million installed) and CP Rail who have been using and realizing the benefits of the Evergrip for many years. The UPRR plans on using the Evergrips on Curves, Switches and wherever superior holding power is required.
